ART DECO INTERIOR STYLING WITH A CONTEMPORARY TWIST
This client wanted to create an impact with a space to truly wow guests. The brief for their formal entertaining lounge was all-out luxury with a nod to the bygone era of Art Deco. Incorporating reflective mirrored furniture and bold geometric patterns, the name of the game was unapologetic glamour and that’s exactly what we achieved.
The colour palette comprised warm neutrals and crisp black and white, with the monochrome touches helping create a sense of drama that simply can’t be ignored. As functional as it is stylish, the furniture was chosen with sociable seating in mind.
The velvet sofas and Art Deco occasional chairs shared a carefully selected mix of textures and patterns, including an array of stylish cushions, creating the perfect space for entertaining in comfort.
A centrally placed pouffe provided a softer, more inviting alternative to the traditional coffee table while affording the same practicality for trays and drinks. The chrome and marble console and side tables boost the sense of glamour, accessorised with carefully chosen candles, votives, mirrored trays, lanterns and decorative ornaments, all in keeping with the contemporary art deco theme.
Plenty of storage was provided with the mirrored credenza and tall drinks cabinet tucked away on each side of the fireplace. Above that, a hidden mirrored TV continued the theme of reflecting light from the opposite windows.

Every detail, from the furniture and fabric choices, bespoke soft furnishings and curtains, to the placement of mirrors, wall art, dramatic lighting and finishing touch accessories, was considered to bring together an interior styling theme with impact and drama—
a trip back in time to an era of glitz to create a room that wouldn’t look out of place in The Great Gatsby itself.
This complete room makeover created the ideal space for happy times spent over a drink with loved ones.
